ABOUT THE ROLE
AM Best “A” rated regional property casualty carrier seeks Actuarial professional to lead Actuary department. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the AVP Actuarial will lead actuarial, pricing, modeling, and data analytics functions. The AVP Actuarial will also direct analytics operations.
Duties and responsibilities:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement strategic plans for the actuarial, data science, and analytics functions while leading a team of actuaries, data scientists, and analysts.
Oversee the development and maintenance of pricing models to support pricing decisions, product development, and pricing strategies that are competitive.
Identify and assess risks associated with all commercial and personal lines products while developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
Drives innovation in actuarial practices, explores new methodologies and technologies.
Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related fields.
Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) required.
6+ years of property & casualty insurance industry experience.
Background in pricing and data analytics is required, and a background in predictive modeling is preferred.
Prior advanced use of R or similar advanced analytical software.
